DIRECTIONS
GPS: “South Waiahole Valley Road” and go to the end of the road. Park on the road and walk to down to farm.
Take a left immediately after Waiahole Poi Factory on Waiahole Valley Road
Fork in the road stay left on South Waiahole Valley Road, drive slowly and follow road all the way to the end you will see St Benedict Signs.
Please park on the right and left of the road and walk down into the farm.
Kekuhaupio Farms will be providing the taro for the famous Waiahole Poi Factory. It is located on the same street as Waiahole Poi Factory.
Kekuhaupio Farms is a place of sustenance and revitalization run by Mele’s family. Kaanapu Kalama, Mele’s cousin, recently obtained 8 acres in Waiahole with his family of four. He and his dad run a construction company in which they have been able to clear the land and prepare it for farming.
For this excursion, we will be helping them to continue to prepare his ʻĀina and playing in the river!
Please bring sun covering, water, chairs, sack lunches, and snack for your family.
There will be two bathrooms available for use as well as tables.
Like all our excursions, parents will need to be present during excursion unless you give express permission to another parent to be responsible and liable for your child. SBH as a program is not directly responsible for the safety or well being of students while on excursions due to our limited insurance coverage. However, we will of course all take care of each other and watch out for the kids together while we’re on these excursions!
