SBH Financial Aid

Application Form

Private education is expensive in Hawaii, and we want to help assist enrolled SBH families to be able to afford our program. Financial Aid funds are allocated to SBH families who cannot afford to pay the full amount of their program dues. While we may not be able to fully cover several students’ program dues, we would like to help meet families in the middle and use funds we’ve raised from donors to subsidize the overall cost.

  1. The application window will be the month of February of each year to be applied to applicants the following academic year. Reminders will be shared in the SBH Newsletter for at least two consecutive weeks. Applications are due by February 29 each year.

  2. Part of the application process for the 2025-2026 School Year will request income verification (W-2, 1040, current pay stubs) of applicants.

  3. The Financial Aid Applications will be held with the greatest confidentiality and will only be reviewed by the Financial Aid Committee members (the SBH Board Chair, the Christ the Foundation Anglican Church Treasurer, and the All Saint Anglican Church Treasurer). Deacon Ben does not see any financial information and has no vote regarding the disbursement of funds.

  4. Disbursements are chosen on the following criteria:

    1. Financial need. The committee considers each family's income based on metrics of a family’s income in Hawaii (number of children are considered). Families need to be under 60% of Honolulu’s Average Median Income to be eligible for SBH Financial Aid. See Financial Eligibility metrics.

    2. Value back into the SBH Community. The committee considers how the applying family has contributed or plans to contribute to the culture of the SBH community through participation, volunteering, and involvement.

    3. Number of applicants. The committee considers how many eligible families are in need and divides the total amount of funds available at their discretion.

  5. The Financial Aid Committee then makes their disbursement proposal to the SBH Board of Trustees who reviews and votes to approve the disbursement amounts. HAN Church vestries do not ratify these disbursements. Deacon Ben will then share the disbursement amounts with each family and communicate how the disbursements will affect program dues for the following year and deposits that need to be made.

Thank you for taking the time to share with us your story and your situation!

SBH FINANCIAL AID FORM

SBH Financial Aid is provided in part by the Skylark Endowment Fund

The Skylark Fund is a financial aid endowment established by Bob & Dixie Moore in 2020 for the purpose of assisting families to afford the Christian collaborative classical education at Saint Benedict Hall. They are committed to supporting quality education that will flourish throughout the Hawaiian islands, and giving opportunities for children to be called up to their vocations in Christ.
