Spring 2025 Hula Class
Aloha SBH Parents!
My name is Kelsea Klein and I have been blessed to teach Christian hula for the last 3 years through my ministry, Praising Him the Island Way Ministries.
My heart for this class is that your student will grow in skill and passion for hula as an expression of their personal worship to the Lord!
WHO: This class will be made available to all (boys and girls) students from Kindergarten through 6th grade.
*All students are responsible for providing their own pa’u skirt (girls only) and water to class. Please wear comfortable clothes for active movement.
WHAT: Hula is a sacred, Hawaiian art form originally demonstrated as an expression of worship to the One True God prior to secularization. In this class, we will approach hula with the same heart, as worship to our Creator God, and with the modern stylings of today.
Every class will include:
brief stretching and prayer to begin class
learning and practicing basic hula vocabulary, moves and steps
incorporating moves into song form as a group
instilling love into fellow classmates through uplifting encouragement and fellowship
WHEN: Classes will meet every Tuesday in the Daybreak Sanctuary from 1:50pm-2:30pm (during SBH Math Study), unless stated otherwise stated below, starting Tuesday, January 21.
Here is the full schedule of all 16 classes:
January: 21st, 28th
February: 4th, 11th, 18th, 26th(Wednesday)
March: 4th, 11th, 26th(Wednesday)
April: 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd, 28th (Monday)
May: 6th, 13th
COST: $275 for the Spring Semester.
Full amount must be paid prior to first class January 21st.
